Greensburg, PA — Computer Systems Design

Systems built to run quietly, not just launch well.

Electrum Technologies, LLC designs and builds the software and infrastructure behind a business — custom applications, systems integration, and the cloud environment that keeps them all running after launch day.

What we do

Four ways we get systems working together

Most technical problems aren't a missing feature — they're two systems that were never designed to talk to each other. That's usually where we start.

Applications built around a specific workflow rather than adapted from a generic template — internal tools, customer-facing products, and the APIs that connect them.
Getting existing software, platforms, and data sources to actually share information reliably, instead of living as disconnected tools with manual workarounds between them.
Infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring built so releases stop being an event and outages stop being a surprise.
An honest technical assessment of a system, vendor, or acquisition target — what actually works, what's fragile, and what it would take to fix it.
How it runs

Five stages, in order

The same discipline whether it's a single integration or a full platform rebuild.

01

Assess

What the current systems actually do, where they break, and what depends on them.

02

Architect

A technical plan built around real constraints — budget, timeline, and existing systems.

03

Build

Development against the plan, with working software reviewed at every milestone.

04

Integrate

Connecting the new system into the environment it actually has to live in.

05

Support

Monitoring, fixes, and a plan for who owns the system once we've handed it off.

What we work with

A stack chosen per project, not by default

The right tool depends on the constraint. These are the areas we cover most often.

Client feedback

What clients said

Representative feedback shared with permission; names withheld at clients' request.

They found the actual reason two systems kept losing data between them — nobody before had bothered to look past the error message.

The migration ran over a weekend with zero downtime during business hours. First vendor who gave us a rollback plan without being asked.

The technical assessment before the acquisition saved us from a system we'd have had to rebuild within a year anyway.

Questions

Common questions

Do you build from scratch, or work with existing systems?+

Both — most engagements involve some of each. We'll say plainly if something is better rebuilt than patched, and equally plainly if a rebuild isn't worth the cost.

How long does a typical project take?+

An assessment usually runs two to four weeks. Build timelines vary widely by scope and get a real estimate after the architecture stage, not before.

Do you provide ongoing support after launch?+

Yes, a standard 30-day support window is included, with longer maintenance arrangements available where an internal team isn't taking over full ownership.

Can you work alongside our existing internal engineering team?+

Yes — most projects run alongside an internal team rather than replacing one. We'll be explicit about where responsibilities split.

What if the assessment finds the system isn't worth fixing?+

We'll say so directly, with the reasoning behind it, rather than recommending work for its own sake. That conclusion is sometimes the most valuable part of the engagement.

How is pricing structured?+

Fixed-fee per stage, scoped after the assessment — not open-ended hourly billing on a project with no defined end.
